Music Therapy for Hospice Care
Holding Hands Hospice offers music therapy for our patients that need a little extra something to help them during this time. Our board-certified music therapists (MT-BCs) are specially trained to help reduce anxiety and pain, to help people express themself verbally or musically, and to process what it means to be at the end of life. Music therapy sessions are unique to each person and may involve playing an instrument, singing, writing music, discussing music, or simply receiving music. The therapist uses live music that speaks to the individual - there is no “one size fits all.” Using music as medicine, our music therapists bring peace, closure and even joy at the end of life.
Why Choose Music Therapy at Holding Hands Hospice?
Our music therapy program is an integral part of our commitment to holistic, patient-focused hospice care. By addressing the emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of each individual, we strive to provide dignity, comfort, and meaningful connections throughout their journey. Led by certified therapists with specialized training in hospice care, our program uses music as a powerful therapeutic tool to alleviate pain, reduce stress, and bring moments of joy to patients.
Music is deeply personal, and we tailor every therapy session to reflect each patient’s preferences, cultural background, and specific care goals. Whether it’s playing a favorite song, introducing soothing instrumental melodies, or co-creating a songwriting project, each session is thoughtfully designed to create a meaningful and comforting experience for our patients.
